A Real Life session to celebrate your newborn baby

There has never been a more treasured moment than the time spent with your little family you have just brought home from the hospital

Kisses & Cuddles

Your baby will never be this tiny again

The moment of coming home as this new family is irreplaceable

Some of you have older siblings that hold a special bond with their baby sister or brother.

Similar to a birth story, your Coming Home Family and Newborn Photo session will be a true documentary and testament to your love for your baby.

I invite you to view this wonderful documentary session below, showing a family celebrating their love for their baby, followed by several galleries from various sessions.

Scheduled Family Lifestyle Session

Should I book an On-Call Coming Home Session or a Scheduled Family Lifestyle Session?

The difference between an On-Call Coming Home Session vs. a Scheduled Family Lifestyle Session is that a Coming Home Session occurs the day you come home from the hospital and includes on-call time.

For all birthing mothers:

The Date and Time You and Your Baby are both discharged from the hospital relies on several elements:

  • Date of birth, even moms with a scheduled induction or cesarean have gone into early labor before their scheduled date, so there is never a 100% sure date of the baby's date of birth until the baby is officially born.

  • Discharge date, the date and time of day or evening you will be discharged from post partum and date and time or day or evening baby will be cleared for discharge by the pediatrician)

On-Call Coming Home Sessions include On-Call

Since it is uncertain what day and time your baby will be born and what day and time you and your baby will be discharged from the hospital, On-Call Coming Home Sessions include on-call time.

On-Call time includes me being on stand-by for you, the same way an emergency room doctor is on-call for the ER, they can be paged into the hospital day or night without any advanced notice and therefore are required to have their phone / pager on 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, even if at 3am in the middle of the night, I am on-call in the same way for you when we do an On-Call Coming Home Session.

With an On-Call Coming Home Session, the expectation for communication is more thorough:

  • I wait to hear that you are officially at the hospital for your birth

  • Another update from you that the baby has been born

  • Another update for me to officially be ready to meet you at your home as soon as you notify me that you and the baby have both been cleared for discharge

  • Me being on stand-by outside your home, ready to meet you upon your arrival

  • Followed by the photo session

Scheduled Family Lifestyle Sessions have a Scheduled date and time

In contrast, with a Scheduled Family Lifestyle Session, we set aside the expectation of scheduling the session in your home at some point within a three week window from either your due date or from a scheduled induction/cesarean date.

Once you notify me that baby has been born, I will supply you with several dates and times that we can schedule the session for.

On-Call Coming Home Sessions & Scheduled Family Lifestyle Sessions

REGARDLESS OF WHICH SESSION TYPE YOU CHOOSE, THEY BOTH INCLUDE:

  • DURATION 45 minutes up to 90 minutes of photography in your home centered around meeting the baby

  • PEOPLE Both Sessions include you, your partner/spouse/significant other, the baby, any older siblings.

    • Grandparents, parents and any other family members such as aunts/uncles, etc are an add-on (please inquire).

  • STYLE Element of lifestyle/candid/documentary style photography, because these sessions embrace "real life" reactions of you & your partner/spouse/significant other as well as possibly grandparents, other family members and older siblings meeting the baby for the first time ever

  • PRE-PLANNING

    • CLOTHING Input on what everyone should wear (not strict rules but suggestions such as no busy prints, as well as what to put baby in)

    • ROOMS Which rooms in your home will be best to do a majority of the photography (I will ask for you to send cell phone photos of the rooms you have in mind), I will guide you on anything you need to do to prepare the certain rooms we will photograph in to accommodate the number of people for the session as well as for correct lighting.

    • PREP-TALK Pre-talk with grandparents/parents/older siblings. If you are adding in grandparents, parents, older siblings will suggest what to say to family members about them focusing only on you and the baby at the very start of the session so that in a true essence to documentary / real life photography, I can capture their authentic in-love reactions to meeting your baby before we do any posed photos and if needed, I will provide guidance for where to sit, what direction to face, who should hold the baby and how throughout the remainder of the session.

  • LOCATION  Any sessions that take place before 8 weeks post partum must take place inside the home (we can take a maximum of 2 photos outside your home at this age of the baby).  If you are doing a Scheduled Family Lifestyle Session after 8 weeks, we can do a combination of inside your home photos and outside your home or a park session (I have two park locations, one in Coral Springs and one in Boca Raton)

  • TIME

    • Scheduled Family Lifestyle Sessions take place only on Mondays through Thursdays between 9am-11am inside your home.

    • On-Call Coming Home Sessions take place the date and time you are discharged from the hospital, please note, of course this affects the type of lighting in your session. The 9am-11am window I use for Scheduled Family Lifestyle Sessions allows me to have my ideal light for in-home photography, and we do not always have that if clients are discharged from the hospital in the afternoon or evening.

  • PROS / CONS OF EACH SESSION

    • With a Scheduled Family Lifestyle Session, we have the flexibility of choosing a main session date for our session while you are still in the hospital prior to being discharged, along with two back up dates in the event I get called into a birth client’s birth the day of our scheduled session.

    • Clients have the option of choosing an On-Call Coming Home Session and if I get called into a birth we can roll over the session into a scheduled date and time for a Scheduled Family Lifestyle Session. Please note, once any of those hours of on-call time are completed on my end, there is not a refund for completed on-call time.

  • SESSION INVESTMENT Contact me for pricing for either session

  • POST SESSION EXPECTATION

    • You will receive a handful of sneak peek images within 3 days of our session and the turnaround time for your entire gallery is 2-6 weeks from the day of our session. Most clients receive their images closer to 2-3 weeks following the session but I do allow myself extra time in the event I have births immediately following our session. Both sessions include between 30-40 edited images at a minimum.

On-Call Disclaimer:

Please note, because I am first an On-Call Birth Photographer, I do have two On-Call Birth Photography clients due in the month of your due date. As a result, while we can aim to capture an On-Call Coming Home Session if that is your preference, however, if I am called into a birth when you are bringing baby home for an On-Call Coming Home Session, or if I am called into a birth with urgency during our session, I would need to head into my On-Call Birth photography client's birth and we would need to default into a Scheduled Family Lifestyle Session.

Granted, I work with a maximum of 2 birth clients per month, so it is only 2 days per month where I am predisposed with a delivery, but with life being unpredictable and birth being even more so unpredictable, there is always a chance of overlap.
